This would be an amazing library if it had any quiet areas in it whatsoever. I’m completely bewildered by the fact that the no talking area is immediately adjacent to the conference rooms that have walls you can readily hear through. The middle of the library along the back wall might be okay if it weren’t for the reference center there, and maybe the computer area would be okay, but the IT help desk is right there. One, one-on-one tutoring session can literally distract 20 people trying to quietly study. The second floor is a youth area, but I always hear some screaming kids on the first floor while their parents are trying to checkout. A couple inexpensive suggestions are to designate the conference areas in the existing rooms on the second floor, and allow the rooms downstairs to be used for silent study, or combine them into one silent area, or remove them all together. Also, walling off the checkout area within an aesthetic sound resistant glass can easily reduce much of the noise in the library. This library has a lot of good features, community events, and things to checkout. I live a minute away from this library, but have to drive to Hinsdale to get quiet.

I like it. It's good, and the people there are really nice. They have lots of activities. Also, it is a very big place. 2 story tall building! They even have a family tree by the elevator! Super Cool!

A wonderful library that offers numerous community events for all ages throughout the year. It is also located close to Darien Community Park, which makes for a fun outing for younger kids to burn some energy after learning at the library. IPPL is community asset that we're happy to support.

Came for the eclipse party but all the glasses were given out before the announced start time. Absolute waste if time and energy.

Recently moved to Darien and love the community. The apartment complex I moved into (Farmingdale) heavily promoted the Library, so I ventured onto their website and was amazed at the free available resources for adults. I've attended several well-instructed seminars and the staff has been extremely accommodating. Thank you for the great service to your community!
